
Sweet and Sour Pork
Enjoy a classic Sweet and Sour Pork with juicy chunks of pineapple and crispy bell peppers, perfect for a flavorful family meal.
Ingredients :
- 500 g pork shoulder cut into cubes
- 1 each red and green bell pepper diced
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 onion chopped
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 3 tablespoons white vinegar
- 4 tablespoons tomato ketchup
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- ½ cup water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
- Optional: spring onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Directions :
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the pork cubes and fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, add more oil if needed and sauté garlic, onion, and bell peppers until slightly tender.
- Add the pineapple chunks and fry for another 2 minutes.
- Return the pork to the pan. Add vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir well.
- Let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the pork is fully cooked.
- Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds if desired.
- Serve hot.
