Sweet and Sour Pork

Enjoy a classic Sweet and Sour Pork with juicy chunks of pineapple and crispy bell peppers, perfect for a flavorful family meal.

Ingredients :

  • 500 g pork shoulder cut into cubes
  • 1 each red and green bell pepper diced
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 4 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • ½ cup water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • Optional: spring onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Directions :

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the pork cubes and fry until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add more oil if needed and sauté garlic, onion, and bell peppers until slightly tender.
  3. Add the pineapple chunks and fry for another 2 minutes.
  4. Return the pork to the pan. Add vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, and water. Stir well.
  5. Let the mixture simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the pork is fully cooked.
  6. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with spring onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Serve hot.
