Smoked Meatloaf

Try this deliciously tender smoked meatloaf recipe for a dinner-time classic with a new spin.

Ingredients :

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium white onion grated
  • 5 strips bacon cooked and chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ cup panko bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon your favorite steak seasoning
  • 1-2 teaspoons salt to taste
  • 1 -2 teaspoons pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup Jack Daniels Honey Whisky
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper
  • 1-2 teaspoons pepper to taste

Directions :

  1. Prepare and preheat your smoker to 250F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix all of the meatloaf ingredients until combined.
  3. Mold the meat mixture into a log or loaf shape.
  4. In a medium bowl, combine the ingredients for the honey whisky sauce and brush half of it onto the meatloaf. Set the remaining sauce aside.
  5. Once the smoker has reached 250F, place your meatloaf inside. Brush with the remaining sauce once it has been cooking for 2 hours.
  6. Cook for 4 hours or until the meatloaf has reached an internal temperature of 165F.
  7. Remove the meatloaf from the smoker, cut it into slices, and serve while hot.
