Shirred Eggs

Shirred eggs are a simple, creamy, and tasty way to enjoy eggs for breakfast or brunch. This dish is made by baking eggs in a small dish with a little butter and cream until the whites are set and the yolks stay soft. It’s quick to make and looks fancy, even though it’s very easy.

Ingredients :

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley optional, for garnish

Directions :

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Grease two small baking dishes or ramekins with butter.
  3. Crack two eggs into each dish without breaking the yolks.
  4. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of heavy cream over the eggs in each dish.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
  6. Place the dishes on a baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the whites are set but yolks are soft.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
