
Shirred Eggs
Shirred eggs are a simple, creamy, and tasty way to enjoy eggs for breakfast or brunch. This dish is made by baking eggs in a small dish with a little butter and cream until the whites are set and the yolks stay soft. It’s quick to make and looks fancy, even though it’s very easy.
Ingredients :
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley optional, for garnish
Directions :
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease two small baking dishes or ramekins with butter.
- Crack two eggs into each dish without breaking the yolks.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of heavy cream over the eggs in each dish.
- Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
- Place the dishes on a baking tray and bake for 10-12 minutes, until the whites are set but yolks are soft.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve hot.
