Salmon Cheesesteak

If you love cheesesteak but are looking for a lighter option, this Salmon Cheesesteak is perfect!

Ingredients :

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoons hot sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • ½ onion sliced
  • ½ red bell pepper sliced
  • ½ orange bell pepper sliced
  • 1 ½ cup mushrooms sliced
  • 1 ½ pounds salmon fillets
  • 1 teaspoons salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons black pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 ounce cheese slices
  • 2 hoagie rolls

Directions :

  1. Combine mayo, Dijon, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  3. Add onion, bell peppers, and mushrooms to the pan. Saute until softened and remove from the pan.
  4. Add the rest of the olive oil to the pan and add the salmon fillets.
  5. Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes without moving, gently flip the fillets, then cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. Use a fork or spatula to flake the fillets as they cook.
  6. Season the salmon with garlic powder, paprika, and salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Add the peppers, onions, and mushrooms back into the pan and stir to incorporate.
  8. Reduce the heat to medium-low, place your cheese slices on top, cover with a lid, and let the cheese melt.
  9. Cut the hoagie buns, spread the mayo mixture you made earlier on the bottom half, and top with the cheesy salmon mixture.
  10. Serve this Philly-style salmon cheesesteak with some crispy fries, and enjoy!
