If you love cheesesteak but are looking for a lighter option, this Salmon Cheesesteak is perfect!
Ingredients :
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoons hot sauce
- ¼ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
- ½ onion sliced
- ½ red bell pepper sliced
- ½ orange bell pepper sliced
- 1 ½ cup mushrooms sliced
- 1 ½ pounds salmon fillets
- 1 teaspoons salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoons black pepper to taste
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 ounce cheese slices
- 2 hoagie rolls
Directions :
- Combine mayo, Dijon, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add onion, bell peppers, and mushrooms to the pan. Saute until softened and remove from the pan.
- Add the rest of the olive oil to the pan and add the salmon fillets.
- Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes without moving, gently flip the fillets, then cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. Use a fork or spatula to flake the fillets as they cook.
- Season the salmon with garlic powder, paprika, and salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the peppers, onions, and mushrooms back into the pan and stir to incorporate.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low, place your cheese slices on top, cover with a lid, and let the cheese melt.
- Cut the hoagie buns, spread the mayo mixture you made earlier on the bottom half, and top with the cheesy salmon mixture.
- Serve this Philly-style salmon cheesesteak with some crispy fries, and enjoy!
