Jalapeno Cheese Samosa Twists

Cheesy Samosa Twists are packed with spiced potato filling, jalapeños, and cheddar cheese, wrapped in flaky pastry or parathas, and baked to crispy perfection. A quick and easy snack everyone will love!

Ingredients :

  • 2 medium red potatoes steamed and cooled
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder
  • 5 kawan roti chanai parathas or 2 puff pastry sheets
  • 2 to 3 jalapeños thinly sliced
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon oil to spray or brush
  • ¼ cup Cilantro Mint Chutney
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • ½ tablespoon lemon juice

Directions :

  1. Peel and chop the steamed potatoes.
  2. Roughly grind cumin, fennel, and coriander seeds using a mortar and pestle.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the ground spices and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add the potatoes, salt, garam masala, and red chili powder. Mash the mixture well and let it cool.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  6. Allow the frozen parathas to sit at room temperature for 2–3 minutes until they soften slightly and are easy to handle. (Refer to notes if using puff pastry sheets instead.)
  7. Spread a thin layer of the potato filling on one half of each paratha.
  8. Add a layer of sliced jalapeños and shredded cheddar cheese over the filling.
  9. Fold the paratha over the filling, press gently to seal.
  10. Cut each filled paratha into 2 to 3 long strips. Twist each strip carefully, starting from the top and bottom.
  11. Place the twists on the prepared tray, sprinkle extra cheese and jalapeños on top. Lightly brush or spray with oil.
  12. Bake for 15–20 minutes, rotating the tray halfway through, until the twists are golden brown and crispy. Tip: You can also air fry them in batches at 360°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
  13. Blend chutney, sour cream, mayonnaise, and lemon juice until smooth. Serve the chutney alongside warm Jalapeño Cheese Samosa Twists for a delicious pairing.
