Chicken Paprikash

Chicken Paprikash is a classic Hungarian dish that’s rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It’s made with tender chicken, sweet paprika, and a velvety sauce that’s perfect for spooning over noodles, rice, or potatoes. This comforting recipe is easy to prepare, using simple ingredients that come together to create a satisfying meal.

Ingredients :

  • 6 chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 2 cups diced tomatoes fresh or canned
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions :

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Brown the chicken pieces on both sides, then set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté the onions until softened and golden. Add paprika and stir for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat. Stir the sour cream into the sauce, mixing well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot with your choice of side.
