
Chicken Paprikash
Chicken Paprikash is a classic Hungarian dish that’s rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It’s made with tender chicken, sweet paprika, and a velvety sauce that’s perfect for spooning over noodles, rice, or potatoes. This comforting recipe is easy to prepare, using simple ingredients that come together to create a satisfying meal.
Ingredients :
- 6 chicken thighs or drumsticks
- 2 tablespoons sweet paprika
- 1 large onion diced
- 2 cups diced tomatoes fresh or canned
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions :
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Brown the chicken pieces on both sides, then set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the onions until softened and golden. Add paprika and stir for 1 minute.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, cover, and cook on low heat for 30-40 minutes, or until the chicken is tender.
- Remove the skillet from heat. Stir the sour cream into the sauce, mixing well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
