Cheese Danish is a simple and delicious pastry that's perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a sweet treat. The buttery, flaky puff pastry is filled with a creamy, sweetened cream cheese filling, offering a wonderful balance of textures and flavors. It’s easy to make, using just a few simple ingredients like puff pastry, cream cheese, and sugar.
Ingredients :
- 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- ¼ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg for egg wash
Directions :
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare the filling – In a bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Prepare the puff pastry – Roll out the puff pastry sheet and cut it into squares or rectangles.
- Fill the pastry – Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold and seal – Fold the pastry over the filling and press the edges to seal. Brush the top with an egg wash.
- Bake – Place the pastries on a baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Serve – Let the Danish cool for a few minutes before serving.
