Blackened Shrimp

Ingredients :

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Directions :

  1. In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, thyme, oregano, and salt. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. Toss the shrimp with the spice mixture until evenly coated.
  3. Heat the butter in a large skillet over high heat until hot and foaming. Add the shrimp in a single layer.
  4. Cook the shrimp for about 2 minutes on each side or until they are opaque and the seasoning has formed a dark crust.
  5. Remove from heat and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
