Blackened Salmon

Blackened Salmon is a standout dish that combines the rich, oily texture of salmon with a bold and spicy seasoning blend. This cooking method involves coating the fish in a mix of herbs and spices, then searing it to perfection in a hot pan. The result is a beautifully crusty exterior with a juicy, tender inside.

Ingredients :

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 ounces each
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Directions :

  1. In a small bowl, mix together paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mixture all over the salmon.
  3. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side up and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the desired doneness is achieved and the outside is crispy.
  5. Remove from heat and let the salmon rest for a few minutes.
  6. Serve the blackened salmon with lemon wedges for squeezing over the fish.
