
Blackened Chicken
Blackened chicken is a mouthwatering dish that brings a little Cajun flair right to your dinner table. This recipe features chicken breasts coated in a bold and spicy seasoning mix, then cooked in a hot skillet to achieve that iconic charred exterior.
Ingredients :
- 4 chicken breasts boneless and skinless
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Directions :
- In a small bowl, mix together paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, thyme, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and rub the spice mixture all over them.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the chicken breasts. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side or until the outside is blackened and the chicken is cooked through.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve warm with your choice of sides or in a wrap.
