Apple Scones

Apple scones are a delightful treat that combines the buttery, flaky texture of scones with the sweet, fruity flavor of fresh apples. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a quick snack, these scones are easy to make and sure to impress. They are lightly spiced, tender, and filled with bits of apple that add a burst of flavor to every bite.

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon optional
  • ½ cup cold butter cubed
  • 1 cup finely diced apples
  • ½ cup milk plus extra for brushing
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Directions :

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to combine until the mixture looks like crumbs.
  4. Stir in the diced apples.
  5. In a small bowl, mix milk and vanilla, then add to the dry ingredients. Mix gently until just combined.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat into a 1-inch-thick circle, and cut into wedges or rounds.
  7. Place on the baking sheet, brush the tops with milk, and bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
