
Apple Scones
Apple scones are a delightful treat that combines the buttery, flaky texture of scones with the sweet, fruity flavor of fresh apples. Ingredients :
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon optional
- ½ cup cold butter cubed
- 1 cup finely diced apples
- ½ cup milk plus extra for brushing
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Directions :
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cold butter and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to combine until the mixture looks like crumbs.
- Stir in the diced apples.
- In a small bowl, mix milk and vanilla, then add to the dry ingredients. Mix gently until just combined.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat into a 1-inch-thick circle, and cut into wedges or rounds.
- Place on the baking sheet, brush the tops with milk, and bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
