American Chop Suey

American Chop Suey is a hearty pasta dish with ground beef, tomato sauce, and peppers. Easy to make, comforting, and perfect for a family dinner!

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 bell pepper chopped
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup shredded cheese optional

Directions :

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and bell peppers, and sauté until soft.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the pan and mix well. Let it cook for 2 more minutes to absorb the flavors.
  6. If using, sprinkle shredded cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
  7. Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite side!
