
American Chop Suey
American Chop Suey is a hearty pasta dish with ground beef, tomato sauce, and peppers. Easy to make, comforting, and perfect for a family dinner!
Ingredients :
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 bell pepper chopped
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- ½ cup shredded cheese optional
Directions :
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and bell peppers, and sauté until soft.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Stir in tomato sauce, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Add the cooked pasta to the pan and mix well. Let it cook for 2 more minutes to absorb the flavors.
- If using, sprinkle shredded cheese on top and let it melt before serving.
- Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite side!
