
Air Fryer Blooming Onion
This air fryer blooming onion is a delicious appetizer or snack to serve at your next event that everyone will love.
Ingredients :
- 1 sweet onion large
- ½ cup flour
- ½ tablespoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons butter melted
- ½ cup milk
- 2 ounces coating
- non-stick cooking spray
Directions :
- Cut the top off of your onion and remove any unwanted layers. Keep the bottom intact.
- Cut the onion into 8 wedges, ensuring they stay attached to the bottom of the onion.
- Place the onion, bottom side down, on a plate. If onion layers are sticking together, gently pry them apart until your onion resembles a bloom.
- In a bowl, mix flour and seasonings until combined.
- In another bowl, mix egg, butter, and milk.
- Sprinkle the flour mixture onto the onion, coating as much as possible. Then pour the egg mixture over the onion.
- Stir your coating of choice into the remaining flour mixture and generously apply it to your onion.
- Add your onion to the air fryer basket and give it a light coating of non-stick cooking spray.
- Cook your onion for 20 minutes at 300F.
- Serve with your favorite dipping sauce, and enjoy!
